How do you communicate a sustainability project about marble?

VE-NATURE is an ambitious and innovative project born to analyze and question how and to what extent the marble supply chain can be more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

We participated in the project as a partner and accepted the challenge: to build a communication strategy capable of informing and disseminating the results of a research process in a difficult field, sector, and topic, but also able to offer insights for a less technical audience interested in a conscious, unbiased exploration of the real state of the marble supply chain.

Development of visual identity and project website

We began our work by creating a visual identity capable of conveying the essence of the project: sustainability, territory, and innovation. The logo and coordinated image were designed to be elegant and minimalist, evoking both the materiality of marble and the concept of natural balance.

Subsequently, we designed and developed the VE-NATURE website, a clear and informative platform tasked with transparently reporting the progress of the project. Each section of the site was organized to offer an intuitive navigation experience and allow users with different levels of expertise (from technicians to consumers) to easily access information.

Tackling risk and stepping into the field to talk about sustainability and marble on social media

The communication strategy we developed was designed to operate on two distinct but complementary fronts. On one side, we created highly technical and informative content to engage industry professionals, such as architects, engineers, and designers.

On the other side, we curated an accessible and divulgative communication aimed at end consumers, with the goal of raising awareness about the sustainability of marble and telling the story of the companies involved in the project. The social media presence, particularly on LinkedIn and Instagram, was crucial in creating an attentive and conscious community, alternating technical posts, storytelling, and video content.

Events, fairs, and video interviews

In addition to digital communication, we managed and curated the VE-NATURE project’s participation in industry fairs and events. We handled the organization of the exhibition stand and the press conference, ensuring every detail aligned with the project’s visual identity and the message we wanted to convey.

During the Marmomac 2024 fair, we participated in the talk organized by Cosmave to discuss the challenges of the VE-NATURE communication strategy, explaining how a structured approach can help overturn misconceptions related to the sustainability of marble.

Finally, we produced a series of video interviews with representatives from the consortium companies, to share the good practices adopted and the value of the project directly from the voices of the protagonists.

A project that challenged us to find a balance between technicality and communication, and demonstrated how targeted and consistent communication can make a difference.
