Time is not the enemy. It’s the witness.
In the skincare industry, everyone sells an anti-aging cream. Very few have the courage to admit that age itself isn’t the primary issue. Sun exposure, pollution, stress, sleep deprivation, and diet: your skin records every daily aggressor and reflects it back with interest. Science has a name for this biological archive: the exposome.
AlumierMD was born in the medical field, available exclusively through authorized skincare professionals. Having supported the brand since its Italian launch, we knew the next step couldn’t be just another generic campaign about radiant skin. We needed a dedicated platform to cut through the noise. That’s how “The Real Way to Glow Up” was created—the brand’s first official Italian event focused entirely on the exposome and Oxidative Ageing™.
We started with an uncomfortable question: how do you address consumers seeking simple answers and medical professionals who inherently distrust oversimplification in the same room?
If you oversimplify, you lose the doctors. If you stay overly technical, you lose everyone else. Instead of settling for a compromise, we designed a dynamic event format capable of bridging high-level science with consumer engagement.
The concept
Putting one word in front of a cliché.
“Glow up” is one of the most overused phrases on social media: before-and-afters, filters, 30-day quick fixes. We took the term exactly as it was and prefixed it with a single word: Real. It was a subtle provocation that did half the heavy lifting. The glow up is real, but it comes from understanding your skin first, not just buying another product. The core narrative centered on a single truth: your skin remembers everything. This allowed us to communicate complex scientific research through a daily experience everyone recognizes, looking in the mirror each morning.
Before the event
Not a ticket. An application
At The Real Way to Glow Up, you didn’t just register, you applied. Through a dedicated landing page, attendees completed a tailored questionnaire covering their skin type, daily skincare routine, and personal perspective on aging. Only selected applicants received an invitation to confirm their spot.
On paper, it looked like a qualification filter. In practice, it was the event’s very first piece of content. Answering those targeted questions forced people to look a little closer in the mirror. By the time guests arrived in Milan, they were already asking the right questions, and an exclusive, earned seat is always valued far more than a free pass.

During the event
Mirror-level science.
On October 17, 2026, we chose Casa Gessi in Milan’s iconic Fashion District (Quadrilatero della Moda). A sophisticated lounge rather than an auditorium: understated elegance, intimate proximity, and no stage separating the speakers from the audience.
The brand took a backseat; the spotlight belonged to three medical experts. Dr. Carlo Borriello addressed skin defense science, Dr. Maria Luisa Pozzuoli explored the markers of the exposome, and Dr. Angela Capponi focused on Skin Resilience. A multi-voiced panel featuring those who study, observe, and treat skin daily, a genuine discussion rather than a lecture.
This strategic choice successfully bridged both target audiences. For skincare professionals, a brand backed by the medical community rather than self-promotion builds immediate trust. For guests, it guaranteed an authentic educational experience free from disguised advertising. Even the catering followed the same design language: refined, balanced, and understated.
After the event
From guests to brand advocates.
Those who entered Casa Gessi as curious attendees left with something far more valuable than a free sample: the knowledge to explain why a skincare cream alone isn’t enough. That’s the exact moment an experience evolves from a one-time event into organic word-of-mouth.
Driven by #TheRealWayToGlowUp, #Esposoma, and #OxidativeAgeing, the conversation kept generating traction long after the event ended. In doing so, AlumierMD established a definitive stance in Italy on a complex topic very few brands dare to address without taking shortcuts.
Because a true glow up isn’t captured in a quick before-and-after picture. It happens the next day, when you read a product label with an entirely new perspective.
